I have a cold sore on the back of my bottom lip....is that herpes??

It probably is. Once the herpes virus is in your system it's there for good.
Here's some tips for controlling it.
Take L-lysine EVERY day. Don't stop just because you haven't had a cold sore in awhile. If I stop taking it I'll get one.
Abreva is the only cream that works for me. There's another one that work for some people. Put the cream on AS SOON as you start to feel that "tingling-itching" on your lip. Some times it'll stop it from coming out, sometimes not. Sometimes it just shortens the duration.
Wash with antibacterial soap. Don't pick, squeeze, put alcohol on it etc. Just leave it alone!! If you mess with it, once it does go away you will have a red mark on your face that'll take a long time to go away. Control the urge to "help it along".
L-lysine is what works best for me and alot of others I know.
P.S. No oral sex when you have a cold sore. And don't let anyone do it to you if they've kissed you.
