Back Curverture?!

Question:

Back Curverture?

My friend had a physical for sports a month ago and at the end she was asked to bend over for a spine check. Apparently she had a lump or something near/on her spine. It wasn't a tumor or anything. But the doctors said it could get worse and they had to watch it. There is no pain and she never realized it before. I'm not sure what this is called. If you know, can you tell me. Also, websites with pictures. Thanks.

Answers:

Usually gym class physicals look for scoliosis. There are several different ways the back can curve though a couple others are lordosis and kyphosis. This link will show how these curves appear http://www.spineuniverse.com/displayarti...

There are several sources on the web when you know what to look for. I'm sure NIH, wikipedia, webmd would all have information also.

Only if the curve becomes real bad or there is pain will they probably do anything to help/stop it which would probably be rods in the back.
