Why does motion and flashes of light make me sick?!
Question: Why does motion and flashes of light make me sick!?
For quite sometime now I have had an extremely difficult time with sudden flashes of light and motion!. When watching television certain color changes, picture movements, etc!.!.!. make me feel sick!. Sometimes a flashing light actually causes my eyes to move involuntarily!. The sickest I have ever felt when this occurred was when waiting for my husband in a parking lot one night!. The parking lot was pretty dark and had few lights and ran parallel to a building!. The building and entrance were well lit!. By looking into the light I felt so sick that I felt like I was literally going to die!. I think it had something to do with being in the dark and looking into a lighted area because if I looked the other way I was okay!. This has forced me to make a lot of changes in my life like not watching tv at night, not leaving my house when it is dark, and no driving I actually threw away my license!. I'm not a big fan of asking medical questions on here because that is what doctors are for, but I have tried talking to my doctor about this many times and he keeps telling me that I am fine!. Am I the only one who thinks that this is not normal!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

If you can, talk to another doctor!. It could be some seizure activity!. It could be related to migraine!. Migraine does not always produce a headache, but it can produce symptoms such as feeling ill!. It's a shame that your life is limited because of this and it's a shame that the doctor won't listen!. If you were my sister or my mother, I would put my foot down and MAKE you see another doctor!. We've never met, so I can't do that!. I hope it helps that the people on this board will probably say the same thing!. God bless!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
It is common in migraines!.
It can also occur with an eye problem!.
I suggest you start with an ophthalmologist, then a neurologist!.
I agree you need a 2nd opinion, there is no reason to suffer with this!.
Google: mayo clinic>>diseases>>headaches, migraines
>>retinal detachment or tear!.

I agree with the others - this could be due to an undiagnosed seizure disorder!. Ignore your primary care physician and go see a neurologist as soon as possible to find out for sure!. At least you'll have an answer!. I hate when doctors ignore their patients concerns!.!.!.we know our own bodies better than they do, so they should take us seriously!Www@Answer-Health@Com

Go back to your family doctor and ask for a referral to ENT Specialist so that they can test you for vertigo and also an Ophthalmologist to check for nystagmus and a Neurologist to double check!.
