Question: Liver Biopsy for Hep C!?Interferon!?
I had a liver biopsy four years ago and I am now starting the treatment will it require a new liver biopsy or will the one from four years ago still show enough!? Also my doctor told me a takes a little while to get the process rolling as far as getting the prescriptions and insurance approval!. Does anyone know what medications he is referring to and how long does it!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Since your last biopsy was 4 years ago, your doctor may want to do another one, but only your doctor can tell you for sure!. Medications commonly used to treat Hep C are Interferon or Peg Interferon and Ribavirin!. Length of treatment would depend on the strain of Hep C that you have!. I have no idea how long it will take to get insurance approval!. That depends on your location and your particular insurance company!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
