Tetanus shot pain?!

Question:

Tetanus shot pain?

I received a tetanus shot today. And I expected to get upper arm pain and that is exactly what i have. But part of my forearm is starting to bother me. Its not really a pain but like its heavy or like its being tightened, if that makes sense at all. I was just wondering if anyone else has had the forearm issue or if they know that is normal. thanks!

Answers:

Your forearm is feeling 'odd' because you were 'expecting' the pain, and were 'guarding for it' ... that 'guarding' is tensing the muscles so that the lower arm starts to feel 'heavier' than usual as those 'tense muscles' get tired. Try stretching your arm straight out then 'rotating it' with your hand moving in a circle about one foot wide ... then 'bend it' and flex it a few times. Your 'forearm pain' should go away or at least 'lessen' ... and you are a 'good person' for getting the tetanus shot ... I HATE SHOTS but I get all of mine when scheduled, too ...
