I still have Staph...?!

Question:

I still have Staph...?

I have a Staph infection throughout my body, and ocassionally I get boils on my skin. I have been on 4 different types of medication in the last 3 months, and I'm allergic to penicillin.
I had 2 alcoholic beverages when I was on my last 12 day treatment.

Is alcohol, lack of sleep, stress... attributing to my body being unable to kick the infection?

Thanks!

Could be a combination of all of them, while one or the other might not cause a problem all three together would certainly cook up trouble. Staph ordinarily lives on everyone's skin, it's considered part of the normal skin flora. It's only a problem when it gets into the skin, or is overgrowning. I assume you are washing with an antibacterial soap, which usually helps control the amounts on the body. The other thing would be to rid yourself of all clothing made of synthetics. You know you are overgrowing staph, so you need to be doing everything you can to eliminate other sources or encouragments. That would also extend to how you do your laundry. You should be adding a disinfectant to the wash, and washing your clothing by itself. You should bake dry the clothing, or at least microwave what can't be. You should never use a washrag or towel twice, nor clothing twice, without washing. You really should use a scrubbie in the shower, and dip it in bleach solution when you finish. And of course, it's showers and not baths for you until it's under control. Body lotions can also help spread the bacteria from an infected area to one that isn't, so it's not a good idea to use it as a rule. If you wanted to use it on elbows and feet, you could, but you would want to wash your hands thoroughly before you apply it to each spot, just as a precaution. Medication can help, but not if you are constantly reinfecting yourself somehow. The more airflow and sunlight you can get to the skin, the more it will help as well. Those two things can help the skin a lot more than you think. Synthetics don't absorb sweat, and hold heat against the body, which create moisture and heat- two things bacteria love to have. I'm sorry that you are having such a struggle getting it back in control. and hope some of these suggestions will help. It can be a real frustration in the doing, because you are fighting something you normally have and can't even see.
