Answers:
Did you do this or are you talking about theory!?

You can call the pharmacy, and discuss it with them, and they will give the best advice without having to talk to your doctor's office!.

They might just say to eat something, so the extra insulin will turn that extra blood sugars into body fat, and nothing more to worry about!. Or they might advise waking up at 2 am, and eat a gram cracker and some apple juice if your sugar level is to low!.

Good Luck!Www@Answer-Health@Com

If you took an overdose of lantus, call your doctor or endo, and if you can't get through to them, go to the ER!. At the least, you will need someone to wake you up and check your glucose every two hours and have you eat as needed!.

An overdose of insulin, even long-acting, that leads to serious hypoglycemia CAN kill you!. If it doesn't, though, it can leave you with lots of nasty physical effects that you will live with and regret the rest of your life!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

i take lantus !.I take a lot only at night!. Lantus is a slow acting insulin!. If you take only a small dose you should be ok!. I would need to know how many cc's!. You may get low in a few hours but its not like humlog and I dont think you could go into a sesuize or anything extreme besides just low suger level!. Not sure how it affects you, or how much you take, so cant be sure !.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Not sure about the double dosage, but insulin is responsible for the uptake of glucose for the body's tissue!. So basically ur blood sugar level would be really low, so you'd feel tired, sluggish and maybe hungry!? i'd probably go call up ur doctor JUST to be safe!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
