my 18yr old son has been told by a x partner that she has been tested for s,t,d's at clinic and was all clear.but now has got a bacterial infection and they have given her tablets and her present boyfriend also has it.
my son is going to get his self tested as he had unprotected sex with her once. this is going to teach him a valueable lesson
can std's be caught through oral sex as well?

Yes they can be transmitted that way as well. If it is a bacterial infection you are lucky because you can take an antibiotic like Cipro for about 3 weeks and be ok. Another way that people can get STD like infections is through unclean showers. 1 in 3 men in the Army get a bacterial infection called epididimitis. It is easily treated as well. A common cause of Chlamydia is to have anal sex, and then without cleaning off having regular vaginal sex. Basically, just get tested. Even if you don't have unprotected sex you should get tested at least once a year. And you should use a condom every time unless you are in a monogamous relationship and have been for a long while.
