Question:

Has anyone on the net hwy, used or ever heard of prostarol b-4? if so what are the side effects.?

Answers:

Prostarol is a herbal medication used for prostate enlargement, a common problem among mature men. Its main active ingredients are Saw Palmetto, and African Pygeum. Both of these herbs have been studied scientifically, with mixed but slightly promising results. They appear to be safe, with few if any side effects.

From a medical research review of Saw Palmetto: "Although most clinical studies tend to suggest a modest efficacy benefit of saw palmetto, more recent studies are less consistent and the precise clinical value of saw palmetto for treating lower urinary tract symptoms remains undefined. Overall, there appear to be few safety concerns with short-term use of this herbal medicine, although large-scale and longer-term safety studies have not been performed."

From a medical research review of Pygeum: "A standardized preparation of Pygeum africanum may be a useful treatment option for men with lower urinary symptoms consistent with benign prostatic hyperplasia. However, the reviewed studies were small in size, were of short duration, used varied doses and preparations and rarely reported outcomes using standardized validated measures of efficacy..... Adverse effects due to Pygeum Africanum were mild and comparable to placebo."

There are several better-studied medical treatments for prostate problems, although many of these do have side effects.
