Carpet burn?!

Carpet burn?
i got a pretty bad carpet burn which has so far healed pretty well. the areas of the carpet burn which didnt suffer quite so badly have healed well and are now just dry skin.
the worst part of the burn formed a scab, the marjority of the scab has fallen off and some I had to pick off as it had become detatched from the skin but was attached to parts of the scab that hadnt detached and it was getting caught. I didnt tear any skin by doing it.
the worse parts of the burn that have scabbed over and healed and the scab has dropped off have left fresh new rather pink skin. will this heal quickly or be pink for months?
also is it likely I will get a scar?
is there anything i can do to help the process along?
