Question: Finding out my Blood Type!?
My mother's blood type is B and I was wondering what mine was because I haven't found out yet!. Would my blood type be the same as my mother's or there is no way of finding out unless I take a test!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

It's almost impossible to figure out your blood type without a blood test!. You definitely can't figure it out without knowing at least both your parents' blood types!.
For example, my mother has B blood!. My father has O!. But an individual isn't just carrying one blood type gene!. My mother inherited the B from her father (he's AB) and an O from her mother (her mother is OO!. All type Os are OO!.) That makes her blood type BO!. (No jokes!) My father is OO!. I am type B, but I could have been type O if both my parents had passed on an O!. But because my mom passed on a B and my dad passed on an O, I am type B because O is recessive and B is dominant!. I am BO, also!.
Even though I know my grandparents' and parents' blood types, I still wouldn't know my blood type without a blood test because of the fact tyour parents can pass a blood type that's different than their own!. Even though my mother is a B, she could have passed on an O!. My dad could only pass on an O because he carries two Os!.
The first poster is right - only a person with two O parents doesn't need a blood test!. Since Os only pass on Os, the children are automatically all Os!.
Sorry if I am being unclear!.!.!. :)Www@Answer-Health@Com

Your doctor may have this information on file already!. Call and ask if you feel the need to know!. Otherwise you need a blood test, or if you give blood, you'll find out from the Red Cross!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
Do you know your dad's blood type!? That will help you narrow it down, but basically you don't know unless you have a blood test!. The only way that you could know without having a blood test is if both parents have type O blood, but with type B blood, you need a blood test!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
