Answers:

I have found many things that are helpful. I will list what has helped me:

Dietary: Basically I eat a diet that is as close to natural as possible. I eat fresh fruits, veggies, low fat dairy and lean meats. I have given up consuming anything with caffiene(coffee, tea, chocolate and soft drinks). I have found that eating foods with added sugar in them make me have more pain. I dont consume artifical sweetners, especially anything from the aspartame family of sweetners. I found MSG gives me migarines. I also am gluten intolerant. If you have food allergies they can contribute to your pain. Carbonated beverages increase pain levels also. I drink lots of water.

Obviously it took me a long time to change my diet. I didnt do it all at once. I gave up one thing at a time, experimenting with how those foods made my body ache. I was very suprised to find out just how sensitive my body is.Its not easy , but it really can help.

I take a variety of vitamins to deal with my malabsorption problems. Many with fibromyalgia have probelms in their digestive tracts. Taking viatmins insures that I dont get run down , causing my health to slip even lower.
I take a magnesium, calcium, zinc blend for muscle cramping and healing. B-complex for my nervous system, Vitamin C for my immune system. A mutiple vitamin. I no longer have to take all those everyday but in the beginning my body needed them.

I have found that DRibose has helped lower my pain levels and improved my quality of sleep. With improved sleep our pain levels drop. DRibose is a relatively new discovery for fibromyalgia and not all doctors have heard about it yet. I have lots of information about it on my 360 page if you want to read more. I have recommended it to many people who have added it to their lives and are doing much better.

I find water work to be very helpful. Because of the lack of stress on the body it is easier to move and do range of motion movements. Warm water is best if a person has access to it.

I know its not easy to make all the changes you read about but it really can be worthwhile if you regain back some of your quality of life.

Finally, a change in the way I think has helped me to have less pain. See if you always are having what I call "negative" type thoughts your body will always be exposed to chemicals that are responcible for making our bodies ready to deal with emergencies . Those chemicals originate in your brain and are signaled by our thoughts. If you always are in conflict with life ( I dont feel good, Im in pain, everything is going badly, nothing works, why is this bad thing happening to me...all examples of what I mean by negative thoughts) then your body will always be flooded with chemicals that add to your pain.

I know these things sound too simple to be true, but you will never know until you allow yourself to believe.I hope you get something out of these suggestions.

I also take tramadol for pain. With the above changes I have been able to cut my pain meds by half.
