Contracting an STD while on period?!

Question: Contracting an STD while on period!?
So the other day, my boyfriend and I had sex!. I had just finished my period, or so I thought!. In the middle of sex he realized that I was still bleeding!. We decided it was no big deal and continued having sex!. Afterwards, he seemed very worried about contracting an STD!. Both he and I are clean but I take the Pill everyday, so we don't use a condom!. I feel like I know the answer: that you can't contract an STD if neither of you have one!. But I just wanted to make sure!.

Oh, and don't answer with things like "You should be wearing a condom!." That's not what I need to hear!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
If neither of you have an STD where is the infection going to come from!? That is like assuming that a pot will fill with water by itself just because you put it on the stove and turn on the burner!.

If anything YOU are in more danger of infection when you are on your period!. He has nothing to worry about if you are both disease free!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

If your on your period- You can get an STD!.
If your not on your period- You can still get an STD!.

However, if your positive that your both clean, you guys are okay!. I recommend getting tested, and following up!. Some people go up to 10 years without knowing they have the HIV virus!.
