Is Myasthenia Gravis "MGMD" inherited?!
Question: Is Myasthenia Gravis "MGMD" inherited!?
I notice that after my first car wreck signs of MD have shown up, such as weak eye muscles, inability to hold arms up longer than 1:30 minutes, and constant fatigue, unless I sleep a good 10 hours give or take 30 minutes!. I always felt weak, but after the wreck the symptoms defined themselves and became irritating!. My mother has MGMD, and thinks its possible that I might have got it from her!. Is that possible!?
Also, if the above IS possible, what should i do about getting checked out!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Wikipedia says that "there is a slight genetic predisposition" to Myasthenia Gravis!. So it's possible that you inherited it!. Your symptoms seem to match the Myasthenia Gravis symptoms!. The first step is to see your doctor!. Since it is an auto-immune disease, a blood test can help diagnose it!. Treatment includes medication and sometimes surgery!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

In general, Myasthenia Gravis is not an inherited disease!. It is not normally passed down from parent to child!. If a patient who does not have a strong family history of MG has the disease, it is very unlikely they will pass the disease on!. There are some families that appear to have a genetic predisposition (they possess a gene that increases the risk of developing MG), but it does not necessarily mean that everyone in the family will get the disease!. There is no scientific proof to determine what genes could place a person at risk for MG and there are no tests for genetic screening!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
