Question: 3 year old son has giant swollen glands on neck!.!.what does this mean!?
my 3 yr old son has giant swollen glands on his neck but he has no symptoms of a cold or infection!. They keep getting bigger everyday im taking him to the dr today!. But should I be concerned w/ them getting bigger!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Usually swollen glands are a sign that your body is fighting some sort of infection or cold!.
In rare instances, swollen glands can also point to other problems such as the mumps!. I reccomend taking him to the doctor as soon as possible!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Yeah you should!. There was something that we used to call the Mumps!. A lot of MDs today have never seen the mumps!.
My neice had them and 5 MD's misdiagnosed the problem, It was not until they showed her to an old MD who was retired and that one knew she had the mumps the second she walked into the room!.
Your son was probably vaccinated against them but on rare occasion it doesnt take!.

The most common cause of swollen glands is an infection!. I suggest you take your son to see a GP!.!.!. it could just be a viral infection!. But they will be able to check him over and if needed (like if it's a bacterial infection) prescribe something for it!.
