(Diabetes)Does insulin make you put on weight and other drugs?!

Question:

(Diabetes)Does insulin make you put on weight and other drugs?

I have been a diabetic for about 15 years and have over the past few years started to increase my weight,Would this be the insulin that is causing this problem? And i have just recently read on the net that Monosodium Glutamate is a slow poison and it increases insulin in the body by three fold ,I also take Ramapril for my blood pressure does this also cause weight gain,Can anybody help

Answers:

People react to insulin in different ways, no two people have the same metabolic reactions to it. Some put on weight, some lose weight, and some are neither up nor down with it.

From a personal standpoint, my mum is diabetic, on insulin and ramapril, and she has been putting on a little weight steadily. She has found increasing her exercise even a little helps balance it out, but she only does this with consultation with her diabetic nurses and doctor's help.

It may be prudent to discuss this matter with your doctor to see whether there is a course of action suitable for you.
