Chicken was rather undercooked, will my friend and I get food poisoning?!
Question: Chicken was rather undercooked, will my friend and I get food poisoning!?
My friend was cooking dinner earlier tonight; he had these frozen breaded chickens that you have to heat in the oven!. Anyway, he cooked the chicken breasts at 350 degrees for so many minutes like the package instructions said!. I ate like a small pea sized end of the chicken piece!. I then cut in the middle to see if it was cooked and it still looked slimmy!. There was no blood, it just looked undercooked, so I decided not to eat anymore of it, and I told my friend that it's still raw!. He then took a bite of his, and spit his back out in disbelief!. We just laughed and decided to have something else!.
I left my friends place and went to Walgreens and asked a pharmacist if there's anything to do in case we get sick!. She said there's nothing I can take to prevent food poisoning rather than antacid to settle the stomach and maybe call poison control!. So I took a dose Pepto when I got home!. I read some stuff about food poisoning online, and hopefully we'll be fine, cause all I ate was a small end of the chicken that was only the size of a pencil eraser, I didn't eat the middle at all, and my friend spat his first bite back out after learning that it's undercooked!. I read that food poisoning takes about 6 to 12 hours to show symptoms and can get bad for people who are immune compromised!. He and I are in good health and have strong immune systems--so will we be safe!?

Hey hun!.!.!.only time will tell if you have food poisoning and it can show up in little as 6 hours to 2 days later depending on how bad and your immune system and metabolism!. As you found out there really isn't anything one can do besides stay hydrated by drinking lots of fluids and plenty of rest!. Time generally will heal you and it shouldn't last for more than 2 days at the most!.
I had a fever when I had my case of FP but that isn't always the case mostly be aware of nausea, vomiting and upset stomach aka diarrhea sometimes both together which is not fun at all!.
I doubt you will get sick though as you didn't eat the uncooked part I wouldn't worry too much:o) Also under cooked chicken doesn't have to be bloody but can be very pink inside and like you said slimy looking!.!.!.good luck I hope you don't get sick it isn't fun at all!Www@Answer-Health@Com
