Answers:
The liver is very quiet about symptoms or signs
until the liver cells become so damaged that
the functions they do start to deteriate!.
Usually, the first signs of something being wrong
is extreme tiredness and having flu like symptoms!. Some people don't even get these
signs, though!.

They are finding out that beer is just as bad
as drinking the regular alcoholic beverages!.
Some people are more sensitive to alcohol
than other are!.!.!.!.it depends on how much
the liver can handle!.

When the cells start to become damaged,
you may see the whites of the eyes and
skin start to turn yellow in color!.!.!. this is
known as jaundice!. Other symptoms will
appear as more of the cells die off!.
The development of retaining fluid in the
abdomen and legs and feet known as
Ascites!. The blood having to find a different
route back to the heart and varicose veins
may appear that break open and cause
internal bleeding (known as portal hypertension
and varies) The patient will become
dioriented and confused easily because the
liver can no longer handle the toxins and they
are staying in the blood and going into the
brain (known as Encephalopathy)!. He may
start to develop spider like veins on his
chest, neck, and shoulder areas!.!.!.these
are known as spider angiomas!. He will
bruise very easily and bleed very easily!.!.!.
the liver can no longer make the factors that
helps the blood to clot well!.
Inflammation will develop in the liver and
cause the liver to enlarge in size and take
on a spongy texture!.!.!.when the cells die
off, the liver will then shrink in size and get
hard!.
These are just a few of the things that can
happen!. But, if he can stop this before
it happens, it is best!. By the time symptom
or signs appear, the disease can be so
far advanced that it is too late to turn back!.
Once the cells of the liver die off, it forms
scar tissue inside the liver that blocks the
flow of blood to the cells that are left and
also through the liver!. This is then known
as Cirrhosis of the liver and it is a progressive
disease with no known cure!.

A liver transplant can cost in the range of
$250,000 and up!. The medications can
cost large amounts also!. This is just
a mild fiqure of the amount it will cost!.

There are so many people on the transplant
list now that wish they had taken steps
sooner to prevent developing this disease!.!.!.
I hope you can help your brother!.
If he is to drink, he should frequently have
lab blood testing done to see if the liver
is handling this or not!.

Hope this information is of some help to you!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
