My mum was taken to hospital with chest pains 3 days ago?!

Question: My mum was taken to hospital with chest pains 3 days ago!?
she had 3 ecg's and nothing was found abnormal, she's since been back home and still gets pain in her chest which travels to her back sometimes, her doctor has said there is nothing that can be done until she goes for a ultra sound scan of her heart which is 2 weeks away!
does anyone have any idea what could be causing this pain!?
she has had a swollen face today but the doctor has said it's an allergy and unrelated to her chest pain!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Hi Lou Lou,

If the ECG was OK it is highly unlikely that it it her heart!.

Does she get it at any particular time such as when she has eaten or when she is hungry!?

I am thinking that it could be epigastric pain which is very hard to distinguish from chest pain!.

This gould indicate a peptic ulcer or inflamed pancreas!.

Try giving her Ranitidine tablets which you can get from any pharmacy!.

It could equally be some sort of strain pain!. Has she lifted anything or carried anything heavy recently!? Perhaps carried a child or heavy shopping!? Alternatively had she vomited in the days leading up to the onset of pain!? That too can cause terrible muscular pain in the chest area!.

Is her pain accompanied by breathlessness!? sweating!? Shaking!? Nausea!? If not it is not likely to be her heart and I think the doctor should be looking elsewhere!.

If you would like to email me with more details please do!.

I hope this helps though!.

if the testing showed everything was normal, then her chest pain is likely related to anxiety!. She will be ok!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
