Really bad sore throat?!
Question: Really bad sore throat!?
So I had the worst so throat of my life!. For the last 3 days!. Swallowing was unbearable and I felt like I was swallowing acid!.
Anyway, I took 2 strep tests (both negative) and there was no noticeable swelling of the tonsils!.
My only other symptoms were fever and deep cough ( fever never got above 101 but frequent)!. I feel much better today but am wondering what in the heck was wrong!.
Also, the nurse gave me antibiotics, and I know it is pointless to take them if you have a virus, but I took them just in case it was infection since I have school work!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Sounds like you have a virus and treating the symptoms is all that you can do - tylenol or ibuprofen (motrin/advil) on a regular basis, gargle with warm salt water gargles as often as you like, rest,take an over the counter cough medication, and increase your daily water intake and run a humidifier in the bedroom where you sleep!. This will go away when your body heals itself which often takes a week or more!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
