Question: How long does it take !?

Hi,

A Quick question !.!.!. how long does it take for an anti-depressant to start working !?

My doctor put me on Zoloft 50 mg 10 days ago!.
I think I have slight elevation in my mood, but still don't have motivation or energy to do anything!.

I have appointment with Phyciatrist - April 29th !.!.!.!.will that be ample amount of time to see if I need a different antidepressant !?

I am actually kind of getting worried maybe its not working for me !.!.but its been only 10 days!?!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

I am on a anti-depressant!. I have been on Zoloft,Paxil and now Prosac!. It takes about 14 days to get a complete affect!. If you have only felt a little different it may be because you need to increase the mg on it!. Doctors normally start you on a low dose and working up from there!. That is why you have to keep coming to see them often!. They try to get you to a mg that is right for you!. When you slowly increase it the affects are good!. If you were to be put on a high dose right away it will really loop you!. Sometimes maybe just changing it to something similar(like the ones I listed) then it is better!It will work out so don't worry you are on the right path!. Yes medicine does help and I need it also!.,but take a look at things that bother you or you find yourself complaining about and either change the ones you can and maybe find a different way to make you feel better!. Trust me I had to make different everyday changes but it may seem overwhelming at first but it really is for the best!Www@Answer-Health@Com
