Smoking Cigarettes....?!

Question: Smoking Cigarettes....?
Ok, I smoke weed usually a couple times a month. Sometimes, not even that. I can go for months without weed because I'm not addicted. Recently, I just tried a cigarette for the first time; and yes, I liked it. Let's say if I only smoke a couple cigs a month like I do with weed, would it affect my health that much? I'm talking no more than 5 cigs a month, people. And don't say, "Oh you'll get addicted, blah blah blah." I just want to know if smoking that amount of cigs each month or every couple months would affect my health greatly. Thanks.

Scientific studies have been subject to endless scrutiny and interpretation.

All this has established that smoking does lead to a huge increased risk of a range of health issues including a variety of cancers.

What they have not as yet been able to establish is what is a "safe" level of smoking.

While it is true that the more you smoke the bigger the risk, there is no established level where we can categorically stat that below this level does not increase your risk.

What it all boils down to is how big a gambler are you? Firstly in gambling you will not become addicted then in gambling that the amount you smoke will be below this undefined "safe" level, or if you are above that level that you will be one of the lucky ones who does not get cancer.

You will not be satisfied with a couple of ciggies a month. Believe me, you will grow a tolerance and need more and more. It takes will power beyond words to manage it.

A couple ciggies won't add much burden to your health considering you have the occasional toke as well anyway.

EDIT: Read the second paragraph di.ckhead.

There are many variables, general health, predisposition to cancer, other lifestyle habits(eating/exercising/etc). A small amount for some could be bad, others smoke all their lives and appear to suffer few consequences.

Smoking destroys lung tissue.

My father died last year from emphysema more than six years "after" giving up smoking.

Yes it would effect your health immensely & smoking 1 every once in a while won't work, ciggarettes are highly addictive & like with any drug you build a resistance after a while and have to increase the dosage.

If you were my sister and you told me you could keep it under 2 to 5 cigarettes a month, I would not worry about your health. I have seen hundreds of my patients die of cigarette related cancers. I figure the average patient of mine who died of a smoking related cancer had smoked half a million cigarettes over decades. If you can control it sis, OK. Most people become addicted, but some people do not. It is your choice. Some people play with fire and never get burned. You are 18 and an adult. You have a right to take your own chances. If you do smoke more than that and develop a smoking related cancer, do not expect us to cure it. The smoking related cancers are the hardest to cure and the easiest to prevent if people would not smoke 20, 40, 60, or more cigarettes a day for decades. The average lung cancer patient is 70 years old.
