How do you know if it is herpes?!

Question: How do you know if it is herpes?
I once had a single pimple looking bump on the skin next to my vagina. I went to the doctor and she tested me for herpes but said that she couldnt tell. She prescribed me valtrex for a week just to be safe so I took it and never saw anything again for like a year. Then a year later some stressful situations occured and I had a cluster of itchy painful pimplelike bumps near my clit on the skin that have been coming and going in different spots (same erea) for about 8 monthes now. They will not go away and I have been taking Lysine, I cannot afford to go back to the doctor. I also sometimes get a random one on the skin next to my vagina. What is this? Could it be something other than herpes? How can I make it finally go away?

It's possible, herpes usually is triggered to break out when you have a lot of stress in your life. It usually causes uncomfortable or pain full itching, burning and or tingling symptoms around the time of a break out. Herpes is passed on when you have intercourse or oral sex with some one that has it, if you haven't had any thing to do with sex then it's more likely not herpes. But if you have had oral sex or intercourse then it could be herpes.
It is best to get tested for herpes because herpes can look and feel different to every one that contracts it. See if you can get your results from your previous test, then see if you can get a refill of Valtrex from your pharmacy.

It does sound like herpes. You can get a blood test done to see. That's the only way to say for sure, but if there are blister type bumps on your vulva then I would guess that yes it is genital herpes. Don't have unprotected sex with anyone until you know for sure, as you could potentially be spreading it to someone unknowingly.

Valtrex is for herpes. It slows down the breakouts -- from coming from month to month. If you get stressed, the herpes comes out.
