How is anemia during pregnancy with twins treated?!

Question: How is anemia during pregnancy with twins treated?
Say a girl was 1 month pregnant, with twins. The doctor diagnosed her anemic because of fainting/dizziness/pale skin/heart palpitations. I'm just curious as to what the doctor would do/prescribe? Or if she would be on bed rest?

Also, if you happen to be in the medical profession, what would cause a doctor to tell a woman (pregnant with twins, fainting is a symptom of hers) to stay laying down, on bed rest? Does that make sense? Please try to answer.

This is not me, I'm not pregnant. I'm just curious, so there's no need for me to go see my doctor!

Well.. whenever you get women displaying those symptoms you mentioned the first thing that comes to my mind is that her anemia is severe. Therefore, the doctor would probably prescribe iron supplements and/or erythropoietin in order to get her red blood cells count up. While waiting for her red blood cells to expand you wanna be really careful, especially at the beginning of a pregnancy since this is the riskiest moment and when most miscarriages occur.

Since you don't wanna risk this patient falling due to the dizziness. It does make a lot of sense to put her on bed rest till she improves and stops feeling those symptoms.

I'm a doctor.

Anemia is treated with iron supplements. The doctor should confirm his diagnosis with a blood test before telling her to have some.

Fainting and heart palpitations, however, could be caused by something more serious than just anemia. If so, bed rest should make these symptoms less noticeable. However, the cause of these symptoms should really be investigated.

I was iron deficient anemic when I was pregnant. All it meant that was that I was not getting enough iron. Since all the nutrients the mother consumes also goes to the baby extra amounts of iron are required. In my case I was prescribed iron supplements. Fainting and tiredness are probably due to a lack of iron. Hope this helps.
