How would I go about participating in the 2011 breast cancer walk?!
Question: How would I go about participating in the 2011 breast cancer walk?
My best friends mom lost her battle with cancer this past november, it was really hard on her and I can't imagine what I would do if I ever lost my mom, that's part of the reason I feel like I really want to do this years walk. The second reason is I feel like it would be a great experience for me, its a great cause and I want to be part of it
I live in Michigan, so there will be one not to far from me
I just don't even have the slightest idea of how I'd get signed up or how I'd raise all the money I would need to
I feel like this is something I really want to do, but some direction would be appreciated :)
also, I already looked on the website, but I still feel really confused

Start by finding an organization that will spend your money wisely. Susan Komen(pink ribbon party people) has gotten way out of hand and wastes much of the money raised. You are better off contacting one of your local cancer clinics/hospitals and donating the funds you raise to their "Uncompensated care" dept. This will help people in your local community who have cancer and can't afford to pay for the treatments get cared for. I believe this is a way better use of the money you raise. Just contact them and ask how to do a fund raiser. Best Wishes
