Question: Can i get a hardships permit if my mom has blurred vision due to diabetes?
i need to drive around to buy groceries because my mom can't really see the road can i apply for a hardships license I'm fifteen by the way

Answers:

That varies by state. Some states don't allow hardship licenses at all. Of those that do allow hardship licenses, you have to have absolutely no other way to get things done. In most places, you can get on public transportation (busses, trains, taxis) or walk or get someone to deliver groceries. Yes, this costs money and time, but you do have the options available. If there's anyone who is willing to make a weekly grocery run for you, then no. You can help by offering to do chores around the house or yard in exchange for someone taking you to the store.

Hardship licenses are almost never granted any more. Too many teens abused the privilege. Usually, what happens is that the family is told to move into the central city, in order to be able to take public transportation.

Green-Man, a hardship license is a driver's license issued to someone who normally would not be considered old enough for a driver's license. They are almost non-existent these days, and some states don't even offer them at all.

If you mean a handicap parking permit it would only be good in N.Y.S. if your Mom was in the car with you.
