Is this your resting heart beat? If so, it is unsafe and you should consult a physician. Your heart should beat anywhere from 60-100 times per minute at rest. For those who are very physically fit, sometimes a bit lower than 60. If you have just physically exerted yourself, 123 beats per minute is not abnormal. You should wait about 10 minutes and test your heart rate again. If you are very excited, or afraid, this can also explain an abnormally high heartrate. Again, try to calm down and check again in 10 minutes. Chronically high heart rates can indicate and/or cause further serious health issues. I hope this helps.
