Question: Sharp stomach pains...what could they be?

its pains on right and left side around mid abdomen and they are extremely sharp..last a few minutes and come and go every few days. I dont think its appendicitis becasues it usually calms down within an hour and goes away and comes and go's for the last 3 weeks.
