Edema, how do doctors treat it?
Does it make you lose all of that water retention weight? (my ankles are miserably swelled from it)
Answers:
They will put you on a diuretic ( a drug to help you lose excess water) and possibly look into high blood pressure medications as well. This is caused by a number of things, but basically what is happening is that your heart is not doing a good job of pumping the fluids back to your body and out of your extremities. Make sure you keep your feet up at the end of the day and watch your salt intake as well.
