Showering to often can make allergies worse?!

Question:

Showering to often can make allergies worse?

I was in the mall talking to a friend about how i have had to take 2 showers a day because of the heat. And also stated my allergies are going nuts with the pollon count.

This African women behind me says that is why i shower once a week only. Your hurting your immune system.
I looked at her and asked what she ment. And I had to really listen to her to understand what she was saying. She said in Africa there is less pollitions in the water. And that this list of things hurts your body that americans place in our water.
perchlorate
_ radon
_ distribution systems
_ groundwater microbes
_ chlorine
_ arsenic
_ atrazine and total triazines
_ chromium
_ Cryptosporidium and other pathogens
_ fluoride
_ haloacetic acids
_ lead
_ chlor herbicides (e.g. acetochlor, metolachlor, methoxychlor, etc.)
_ organophosphate pesticides
_ trihalomethanes
So my question is....
Do you have more alergies problems after you shower?
Maybe i should think about getting a filter system.

I will not take less then one shower a day. That is not for me....
Have you noticed a change in allergies if you had a filter system

Answers:

Warm steam opens pores and sinus cavities, it just happens you get a lot of that in the shower. It's not making your allergies worse, infact right after a shower is the best time to blow your nose and get all that crap out of your sinuses.

Trust me, where it's super humid and sticky most people shower twice a day (morning and evening)...just try visiting Hong Kong in June or July and ask anyone!

Don't shower once a week...I understand every culture is different, but in the US, where I assume you're writing from, that is considered disgusting.
