psorasis or not?? advice please?!

Question: Psorasis or not?? advice please?
Okay so I am 14 weeks pregnant, at my first doctors appointment my doctor checked me then I figured meh might as well ask about these dry patches of skin randomly on my legs and elbows that I have had since a year, he confirmed it was psoriasis, but where I am pregnant he can't treat it yet. no big deal, then i went to my new doctor ( well, the doctor that will be handling my pregnancy ) and I was itchy in my .. uhh 'private areas' for a few days and figured it was an infection. She checked my cervix and said you have psoriasis dont you? I said she and she said I can see that so I was like huh? then I went to the bathroom and i looked and it was at the top of my legs ( the crease ) and my private areas ( labia etc ) so Im getting worried. Its itchy, and if scratched feels liek it gets cut? It gets swollen and you can rub off skin? (Im guessing, only thing i can think of is how a yeast infection would look ) and gets really sore, however!!!! it cleared up on the crease of my legs and only stayed there? Does this sound liek it could be psorasis or should I get another opinion?

Yeast infection and psoriasis in the groin would look similar. A vaginal yeast infection would be expected to make more discharge, but the psoriasis can cause a small amount of cheesy material. The good news is that psoriasis in this area may respond to yeast treatment. If it's ok with your doc use over the counter antifungal. Ask for the swab to look for yeast. If no yeast are found you could treat with tar or a mild potency topical steroid. A dermatologist could review treatment options during pregnancy and nursing.
