Does Accutane Really Work?!

Question: Does Accutane Really Work?
I have really bad acne on my lower cheek area and the center of my cheek.
I also break out on my back and shoulders and chest here and there.
So I went to my dermatologist and he recommend Accutane. I heard that it works really good, but will dry my skin and lips. If you had acne and used this pill did it work?
I'm a 17yr old boy.

I am currently in my last two weeks of treatment. So far, Accutane has been a major life changer for me. Before my treatment, I had tons of blackheads, always had a handful of whiteheads, and cystic acne. I guess my skin would have been labeled mild to moderate as far as Accutane patients go. However, my dermatologist tried many other oral and topical treatments with me before recommending Accutane. As far as the lasting results, it really depends on the person. My doctor told me that some people have to repeat treatment later on. The acne might come back in a few months, or even years. I can tell you, though, the treatment really hasn't been a big deal. People build this drug up to be horrible, and it really isn't. It is just a chemically altered form of vitamin A. They change it slightly so that it won't be toxic to your body, as regular vitamin A would be. I have hardly experienced any side effects on 40mg/day, other than skin dryness. Actually, I am on generic accutane, I do not have insurance, so i purchase it through reputable http://www.pharmacynextdoor.com Hope this answer helps you!

YES! Accutane really works! That is for most people. Of course there are health risks but the odds of something bad happening is pretty low . So if you have really bad acne i think it is worth the risk but you will just have to decide if its worth the risks to you. And as for the dry skin and lips, yes they can get very dry but the side effects are a pretty small price to pay for clear skin.

There are potential risks and potential benefits. It can be a cure for acne, while most acne treatment is management. For most accutane is a last resort when they don't respond to anything else. Some will use it right away if there is scarring. Dry skin, lips eyes and nose are expected. Many other side effects are uncommon. Most patients clear with accutane. You have to discuss the risks and benefits with your doctor who is familiar with your case.

I heard it causes health problems so i wouldnt reccomend it.
