Unexplained staph infections.. read details?!

Question:

Unexplained staph infections.. read details?

I am 16 years old and i went to the doctor a few months ago because i had a large bleeding boil like lace on my left leg, but it wasnt the first time i had one, i had about 6 or 7 down between my legs and one on my arm. Well i saw only a nurse practitioner* and she told me they all were spider bites and she drew a circle around the outside of the "bite" and around the red outline and said it the redness went outside that circle to go to the hospital. Well i really didnt think she knew what she was talking about but i took the medication she gave me and took 4 salt baths a day. Then the spot started spreading and my leg started swelling and turning really red, outside the little circle too, so i went back to her and she said it was okay. Well about 3 weeks later i got another spot on my chin and this time i saw a different nurse. Well this nurse also thinks the other nurse is stupid because the average person has no more that 3 or 4 spider bites their entire life time and ive had around 10 in the past 2 months so she took a culture test and sent it off, and it came back positive for staph. So this whole time, that nurse wouldnt let me see my doctor or do any tests and i had been walking around with staph infections and who knows how much ive spread it. Well she gave me meds. and antibacterial soap, and the infection came to a large zit like bump and i accidentally hit the scab and it started literally shooting out yellow-green infection, then it went away. Its been about a month now and on my forehead i believe im getting another one. I havent been to the hospital so how and why do i keep getting staph infections? No one seems to have any idea they just give me medication and send me away. I want an answer!

Answers:

I had a similar staph infection when I was 18, actual spider bite. One bite on my ankle. I took about 6 months of antibiotics. Staph is strong and it takes a while to beat. I am a nurse, for 10+ years, my suggestion is DEMAND I.V. drug therapy!!!!You may have to do both I.V. and oral antibiotics to get this gone from your system. Take good care of yourself and like I said, I.V. drug therapy will put a quicker, stronger, longer lasting dose in your blood stream and then ask for oral antibiotics to finish off the bug. Have them culture these boils after each round of drug treatments, this is your only way to "check" that what they did works. Remember: I.V. antibiotics- then culture any returning boils; then do it over and over until you don't get anymore boils. Culturing tells them which antibiotics work and which ones don't. Be pushy and demanding, it is the only thing that works. Demand a culture, demand IV treatment, and demand better care. I listen to demanding people at work and it seems they get better care. Plain and simple.
