Well, I use this on my face but I'm sure it will work on your feet, too: Okay, michellephan did a tutorial on this and since then, I've been using this: This is what you need: Extra Virgin Olive Oil (everyone has this at home), Honey and Granulated Sugar. Half a Cup of Sugar, 2 Tablespoons of Honey and 3 Tablespoons of Extra Virgin Olive Oil. I prefer using the Oil before the honey because it gets really sticky and gets really hard out of the spoon. Mix altogether and use on feet. Use it at night times. Massage on feet for 60 seconds. When 60 seconds are over, leave it on your feet for another 60 seconds, without massaging. In total, 2 minutes =). Wash off in circular motion and VOILA! Soft FEEEEEEET =D

Some people have a predisposition towards dry skin, it is genetic. Given your Mother has it as well then this is likely to be the case for you. I am assuming you are otherwise in good health. In this case you may not just get rid of it but with frequent attention to a good foot care routine you can quite easily minimize and manage it.

Our skin becomes increasingly dry with age naturally.

The problem can become worse in the winter due to the weather conditions.

Eat healthily and keep your skin hydrated by drinking plenty of water.

How often are you applying lotion and what type? You will probably need to use it daily. Manage any build up of hard skin with a pumice stone and then apply an oil based emollient. Apply at night and lock in the moisture by wearing a pair of socks to bed. (I think you are already doing this)

Wear well fitting shoes, those that are too tight or too loose can cause friction on the skin and exacerbate the problem.

Avoid letting your feet get too cold in the winter as the dry skin may be prone to chapping. If your house gets cold in winter, consider wearing some socks rather than walking in bare feet.

Really hot baths and showers can make the problem worse. Take a cooler bath or shower, dab yourself dry and then apply the moisturizer

If the skin becomes scaly, itchy or sore then these are signs of an underlying problem that may need treatment.

Hope this helps
