Serious throat swelling?!

I have had an extreme swollen throat for the last four days. I also have...
-difficulty swallowing
-severe pain
-swollen glands (in my neck)
-I held a fever the first 2 days.
I ran some tests at the doctors office for mono and strep but they both came back negative. But they tested my white blood cell count and the results said that I had an elevated amount. Any idea what this could be? Thank you so much for your help!
