My morning blood glucose was 170 this morning?!
Question: My morning blood glucose was 170 this morning?
I've been working late the past few weeks and don't eat my final meal until about an hour or 2 before bed.
I'll change that immediately but are my high morning numbers a result of this behavior?

A morning glucose reading (for a non-diagnosed, diabetic of 170 shouldn't be that high even if you ate something a few hours before going to sleep. You don't state if your a diabetic or not so I'll assume your not yet diagnosed, if that's the case then it's time to get to your health care professional for the proper testing.
A reading this high, if it is not contaminated, very strongly indicates that you are a diabetic. (so strongly, in fact, that if it is confirmed with another uncontaminated test, it can be diagnostic). Basically, unless you did the testing procedure incorrectly, you ARE a diabetic.
Eating late at night does not make a difference. ANY fasting reading higher than 125mg/dl strongly indicates diabetes and needs to be checked out by your doctor ASAP.
do you have a basal insulin? do you take a prandial insulin before your meal? this either has to do with your last meal or means your drugs are not being effective. if this is a recent change that correlates to your late night eating change, you may need to add a few units to your insulin before your last meal. consult your doctor.

First, if you're not diabetic, then your fasting shouldn't be affected by something you ate 6-10 hours ago.
Second, if you are diabetic, then late-night meals can absolutely have a profound effect on morning blood sugar. When I eat late at night, my fastings are always higher, no matter what.
