Anyone know of assistance for people in the real world?
We always fall between the cracks with assistance. My insurance Co. is backing out leaving us with over $50,000 in bills, plus the needed hormone therapy and thrice weekly Interferon shots. My wife's an RN. That puts us above the income bracket for help right off. However, realistically, with rent, electricity, gas, groc. and an insurance company that wants my money without providing a service, her income barely gets us by w/out the med. bills. Me, I'm an educated Janitor. Don't go there. I have my reasons, and most folks wouldn't understand w/out thinking, "Well! He's just a loser!"
Go to www.histio.org and search Erdheim-Chester Disease to get a handle on me. It's ongoing and life threatening w/out Interferon. Folks w/ it die w/in 3-5 yrs of congestive heart failure. Okay. I'll shut-up, now. :)
Answers:
Most of the time Medicaid will help you if you have a serious condition even if you do make too much. They rarely turn down cases like yours because the fact that without help you will die. You need to go up to the local office fill out all the paper work and do what it says. Then turn it in and they should set up an appoinment for you. Then just explain to the lady why you need help.
How do you know they won't help unless you try.
