How do I tell Him I have Genital Herpes?!

Question:

How do I tell Him I have Genital Herpes?

So, I have known this guy for 2+ years through work, we both have diffrent jobs now but we still chat online and on the phone a lot. Things are getting more serious and we are going to start dating soon, however I have genital herpes. I want to know should i wait untill we are like ready to have sex then say something or should i just say something now, so that he can decided before ever dating me if he wants to persue it ferther?
im really nervous to tell him, maybe i should say it online while were chatting? last boyfriend i had i was dumb and waited untill we had already had sex a few times with a condom to tell him, because he was wanting to know why he had to wear one... well number 1 because of what i have and number 2 cuz i dont wanna get prego! right now.... anyways how should i tell him?

First off...always always tell someone you have H before you have sex. Even if it's protected sex. There is still as risk you can pass this on.

Okay, I'm in your exact same boat with the dating thing. It's the age old questin....everyone has this questions. My one friend on my myspace H group told it to me like this, and I happen to agree. I combined 2 responces I got, but it works:

Look at it like climbing a ladder, the higher you go the more it will hurt if you fall. Tell him sooner than later before you get too attached to him. If it's meant to be it will be. The longer you wait the harder it gets to tell someone. I feel it is better to say it as soon as possible because not only can you get hurt more but the other person can be upset you took you so long to come clean...its better to explain, but don't make it a big deal, just something you have to deal with and hopefully he will be willing to deal with it too.

I say be honeset, and just tell them, I was in a trusting relathionship before this and that person gave it to me with out my knowledge. You can tell them that you are on daily supressive therapy as well(if you are), and that you practice safe sex and it's safe. Ask them you would be happy to answer any questions. Get educated as much as possible too. Then....see how it goes. GOOD LUCK AND KEEP US POSTED.
