Question: I have a small bump on my upper back. What could it be?
I have a lump a little bigger than a bug bite on the left of my back directly underneath the back of my bra. I am almost positive that it is not a bug bite, because it is February and also because the lump is in a difficult spot to reach (I wore a shirt and sweater and the bump is underneath the bra). Whenever I press down on it, it's is hard and very sensitive. No discoloration though; it's the same color as my skin. I'm 15 and obviously female. I'm not worried about it as I didn't notice or feel anything until right now, but I just want to make sure it's nothing serious. In fact, it may be just a very large pimple (who knows). You're right, it could just be a pimple. It's very common to get acne on the back. If it has no white top and it's not a black head, it could be a pimple under the skin (like the kind people get on their face).
Another thing it could be is a boil. Boils often will develop a grotesque-looking white top on them after a few days. Wait about a week (and don't squeeze it), and if it doesn't start going away by then, see a doctor about about it.
