Blood transfusion information...?!

Question: Blood transfusion information...?
I just had a blood transfusion of 3 units. I am still trying to get used to it. My question is, will this blood that I have recieved have any effect on my children if I have any? Since I have somebody elses blood flowing through mine, is it possible my children could look diffrent than my race or anything related to that? Just curious.

Answers:

Blood cells only have a short lifespan. They are continually dying and being replaced by your bone marrow - that is the normal process. These cells will not be in your body long. Transfusions are often just a temporary fix until a doctor can figure out where the blood loss is occurring and then try to stop that from happening. This has nothing to do with future children.

Nope the blood will only effect you if it was tainted in some way. Blood cells has a lifespan of a few months so if you aren't having children very soon you won't even have the donor blood in your body.
