Does the mucous membrane in the mouth and throat heal faster that the skin on re!

Question: Does the mucous membrane in the mouth and throat heal faster that the skin on rest of the body?
Answers:

In general, yes.

I'm a nurse.

I've always heard it's a harder heal because of the acid.
A relative of mine had surgery and her esophagus was accidentally nicked, it took a long time to heal plus she had to have blood transfusions.
