Why do diabetics have to pay such close attention to their feet?
I have noticed that even foot scrubs and similar products are labeled safe or not safe for diabetics to use. I'm borderline diabetic and I have dry cracked heel. Should I be concerned?
Answers:
Sometimes full blown diabetes sufferers lose feeling in their feet (neuropathy) and can't tell if they are cut or blistered, etc. That's why the extra care regarding feet. They also heal more slowly. Use lotion for cracked heels and don't worry about it.
