25 and High Blood Pressure?!

Question: 25 and High Blood Pressure?
The last few times I've gone to the doctor and got my general stats taken, my blood pressure has been pretty high (consistently 180/120). I am 25 years old, 5'8" and 150lbs. I eat pretty healthy (not a lot of deep fried crap; varied diet of fruits/vegetables/poultry), don't smoke, and exercise pretty regularly (I try to get my heart rate up at least twice a week in the swimming pool). The only major problem I have is a congenital birth defect that has caused degenerative disk disease and deformities in my legs. I recently saw a pain specialist about my back and he was the one that's been monitoring my health information over the past few months. He said that my high blood pressure could be due to elevated levels of pain or stress, but that I shouldn't worry too much about it. However, everything I've read points to this being a serious problem that I should take action on it right away. Any thoughts on this would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

That is a little high. Especially the lower number. However I will tell you that most people's blood pressure goes up when they are in the doctor's office. I guess it's nerves but mine even does it and I'm a nurse. Pain will also increase your blood pressure. The more pain you are in the more your blood pressure will go up. Some medications will also increase your blood pressure. If the doctor is monitoring it and you are not having any other problems I wouldn't worry about it too much. Worrying will also run your blood pressure up. You may want to cut down on your sodium intake. Fast food, prepackaged food, deli meats, and some soups are loaded with sodium. You can also buy a blood pressure cuff at a pharmacy or store like Walmart and Kmart which can help you monitor your blood pressure at home. They have some that are fairly inexpensive that fit around your wrist. Read the directions on how to use it carefully and keep a record of your readings. When you go back to your doctor take your reading with you to show to the doctor.
I hope you feel better soon.

I would suggest changing your diet a bit and doing some things that will naturally lower your blood pressure. Here is a Guide that will help you do so. http://lowerbloodpressurewithoutmedicati…

about it you can get information from here http://ansusmd17.notlong.com/1AAHSbw
