What is wrong with my head?!

Question: What is wrong with my head?
I woke up this morning, and it felt like my brain was loose in my skull. It has been throbbing pain all day, all over my head. It hurts to focus my eyes on something, and it hurts to breathe. I have been dizzy all day also. It is 8:45 pm PST (where I am), just for a sense of perspective. It hurts to move my eyes.

Could range from a simple headache due to low hydration to the beginning of a brain bleed or possibly meningitis - inflammation of the lining between the skull and brain. The Boss' oldest son had a brain bleed at 20, so it's no laughing matter, and can happen.

Some forms of meningitis are carried by mosquitoes, so? Can't recall where you live.

Try some hydration - two big glasses of water mixed with about 10%-15% salts and sugars (it's called bottled lemonade or soft drink mixed with a larger volume of water. This gives a solution very near the hydration solution that hospitals will give you - great for an emergency, and allows the water to be absorbed into your body 26 times faster than straight water.

Lie down in a dark room, even cover your face and eyes, and relax. Make sure you have someone with you.

If you can get rid of it without pain killers, all the better. If it's blood pressure, however, aspirin will lower that for you. I take it you don't own a blood pressure monitor, though - most don't (we do).

If it persists, as it seems to have already - definitely see a doctor. Any family history with brain troubles, stroke, blood pressure - even cardiac?

have you ever had a headache like this before? have your tried any pain relievers? do you have sinus symptoms? if you aren't having sinus symptoms and have tried pain relievers to no avail, you might consider going to an urgent care center or ER to be evaluated for something serious. have you ever had migraines? since it is a weekend, and its been going on all day... it if were me, i would get it evaluated.

good luck!
