HIV is not transmitted through saliva. Unless both you and your prostitute have cuts in your mouths, it is impossible for HIV to be transmitted through french kissing.

If by STDs you mean HSV-2 (Herpes Simplex Virus 2), HPV (Human Papilloma Virus), Gonorrhea, Chlamydia, Trichomoniasis - No, they are not transmitted via saliva also. You may get HSV 1 by kissing (not via saliva), but that is not considered an STD. Generally, you need to have sex to contract an STD.

I don't know why a doctor would have told you there is a 2% chance of getting hiv from french kissing someone. A lot of doctors with experience in the HIV field will even tell you that there is pretty much zero risk from oral sex, much less kissing someone. The only way that there could even be a remote possibility of transmission is if you both had actively bleeding sores inside your mouth.

it depends if the prostitute had herpes in her mouth, then theres a chance it could be passed on. HIV and STDs usually transferable through intercourse
