Can Minimal PTB on chest PA view disappear on Apicolordotic view after 8 days? H!

Question:

Can Minimal PTB on chest PA view disappear on Apicolordotic view after 8 days? How can you explain this? Tnx.?

I had a patient who had chest xray on June 15 which I read as PTB, minimal, both upper lobes(the densities in the upper lobes were obvious). He sought consult from a pulmonologist on June 23 who requested for spot view of the upper lobes and apicolordotic view which turned out normal. Have you encountered such thing? How can you explain this.thanks.

Answers:

PTB=pulmonary TB? I am not a radiologist (I don't know if there are many here on Y!A) but I would imagine that either his upper lobe problem got better or that the densities you saw were artifacts. One idea would be to ask the pulmonologist directly what he/she thinks happened. Sounds like an interesting case.
