Should I get a tetanus shot?!
Question: Should I get a tetanus shot?
2 days ago I was at the park and stepped on something sharp. It was stuck in my shoe, and my friend got it out for me. She said it was a fish hook. I saw it and it looked a little rusty. Either that or it was copper, I couldn't tell. It just pricked my foot and there was only a bead of blood, but I'm freaked out that I'm gonna get tetanus. Should I get a shot? The soonest I could get one is Monday morning. Would it be too late then? My parents say I'm overreacting, but I'm not sure. I don't know when my last tetanus shot was. Either it was 7 years ago, or when I was a baby. My mom will check my shot records soon. Also, I can't really see the puncture wound at all. I only know where it is 'cause I got a blood blister there. The area is clean with no signs of infection. I reapply Neosporin regularly, and I keep it clean. Any advice is appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Better safe than sorry. Tetanus shots last for ten years so go get one ASAP just to cover the bases.

no, if it was 2 days ago and you had tetnus you would be dead by now.
It won't hurt, but if it didn't make that big of a cut you should be fine.
