if you have an overactive thyroid you could develope an eye disease where your eyes bulge out, i have an overactive thyroid and im totally freaking out that i'll get this as theres no cure and meds don't stop it

My Mom has an over-active thyroid, and yes, her eyes do stick out more than they used to. However, this is because her hyperthyroidism is a result of a disease called Graves Disease. It is only if you have the Graves Disease variety of hyperthyroidism that you're at risk of bulging eyes. Ask your doctor if this is the variety you have. Even if you do have Graves Disease, it doesn't mean you will get bulging eyes.
If you do, don't worry, it's not hideously disfiguring. My Mum still looks normal and although her eyes are a bit bigger than normal and hurt a bit (they feel gritty), it's not a bad thing to have. I wouldn't worry about it, just make sure you keep as healthy as possible and ask for treatment for anything you're not happy with. Good luck.
