Epilepsy warning signs?!

Question:

Epilepsy warning signs?

Can somebody please describe to me what the warnings signs before an epileptic seizure are like? I'm writing a story for english in which a man has an epileptic fit, and it'd probably be good if it was as realistic as possible. Thanks!

Answers:

Sometimes the person will get a metallic taste in their mouth shortly before it happens or a feeling as if the blood is rushing away from their head. Their eyes may also fixate on something like a flourescent light bulb. But often times there's no warning. Since you're writing a story, you need to include the many reactions of the people who witness the seizure. Some want to escape and not have any part of it. Some want to be heroes and try to help. But most stand around not knowing what to do talking to the people next to them wondering what's going on. Heart attack is what most people think it is at first. Also there's not always a lot of shaking like you would imagine. It's more a clinching of the arms and legs so hard that they shake a little. Muscles can be sore for days. A coworker of mine had some seizures a few months ago.
