Question: Anyone with oily forehead, sebum, taking Vitamin A retinol (fish oil) and side effects?
somehow all of a sudden i have an oily forehead, sebum excess, it does not happen anywhere else really..and it's made my eyebrows flake increasingly and eyebrow loss...funny thing is i tried taking cod liver fish oil which is vitamin A retinol and it seems to go away...the problem is, taking retinol vitamin A has made hair shed faster...i've googled this and many people taking vit A retinol has the same problem...i've tried taking massive amounts of vit A carotene but does not have the same benefits.

anyone with similar problems? is it vitamin A deficiency?

For good skin try these three products which are not expensive.
-Cetaphil cleanser for normal to oily skin.
-Neutrogena Clear Pore astringent (or any salicylic acid preparation)
-benzoyl peroxide 10% cream.

Here is the rationale behind them: Oil and bacteria are the main causes of acne. Hormones play a lesser role. You can do something about the oil and bacteria with treatments. Try to not get stressed out because that can cause hormonal fluctuations.

1. Cetaphil cleanser doesn't over-dry your skin like a lot of acne soaps do. Over-drying makes the skin produce MORE oil, so acne gets worse in the long run. Cetaphil cleanser sets skin at the right PH

2. The astringent has salicyclic acid in it and this can help by slightly drying and disinfecting problem areas.

3. A benzoyl peroxide cream is available over the counter in a prescription strength nowadays. A few companies make it. Apply a thin amount to breakouts with a q-tip. This keeps bacteria lower in both the tube and on the pimple.
